Mapping Future Risks for the EU–Africa Partnership

On 20 January 2026, the Nexus25 project convened a Strategic Foresight training module, co-organised with ECDPM and ETTG, bringing together representatives from African embassies, EU institutions and policy experts in Brussels. Set in a 2035 scenario, the workshop explored future risks and governance challenges shaping EU–Africa relations in the context of climate change, energy transition and geopolitical fragmentation. Through horizon scanning and role-based negotiations, participants examined responses to a proposed BRICS-led reset of global climate governance.
